Buying advice

What to check on a used SUV

  • AWD system: on a test drive, make slow full-lock turns in a parking lot. Binding, shudder or clunks can point to a tired transfer case or rear differential.
  • Rust underneath: Ontario road salt is hard on subframes, brake lines and rocker panels. Look with a flashlight, not just at the paint.
  • Tires all round: AWD systems want four matching tires with even wear. Mismatched tires can cost you more than they look.
  • Tailgate and third row: power liftgates, folding seats and rear climate all fail quietly. Test every one.

Most of the SUVs on our floor are AWD — each listing shows the drivetrain in the spec sheet, so you can filter for exactly what you need.

Can I finance a used SUV with bad credit?

Yes. Our finance desk works with good, fair, rebuilding and new-to-Canada credit. Approval and rate depend on your situation and the vehicle.

Can I trade in my car toward an SUV?
